Rhode Island has a unique ecosystem of creative, tech-related and non-profit organizations. We decided to connect these groups over a party. Concentric is a night of fun and mingling with people you haven’t met yet (or maybe don’t even know exist). The name Concentric is a reference to our goal of aligning the unique social circles which exist in Rhode Island. Drinks are on us thanks to the generous support of our sponsors. The more, the merrier so feel free to bring yourself and your friends!

Entrepreneurial juniors at RISD, Nate Phipps and Madeleine McGarrity have created a new service called Pink Rides. They have stationed bicycles downtown in the lobby of the RISD residence hall of 15 West. During the first phase of the program 2 bicycles are available for any RISD student to use for up to eight hours at a time. Their start-up, BIKE TOWN is “a group started by, but not limited to, RISD students as a forum for making RISD and eventually Providence, more bike friendly.” They meet once a month to discuss issues and plan rides. Among other things, they discuss more bike racks, commuting buddies, safety, maintenance workshops and bike sharing. BIKE TOWN is open to everyone, feel free to join them at their next meeting, a Bike Maintenance Workshop at the RISD Industrial Design Building this Friday in the afternoon.
